The English-language channel of RT, the international news network funded by the Russian state. It posts headlines, short video and live coverage with a framing that differs sharply from Western outlets.

It helps to know where this is coming from: RT is state media, and since 2022 its broadcasting has been restricted across the European Union. That doesn't make it useless — to understand how a conflict is presented from Moscow it is a primary source — but it does argue against treating it as your only one. If you follow geopolitics, read it alongside at least one outlet from a different editorial orbit.

It posts reports, live coverage and its own pick of the most-discussed events inside Russia and around the world, including footage gathered on the ground. That context is worth keeping in view: as state-funded media, its editorial line reflects that of the government backing it, something no outlet, public or private, is entirely free of. That's not a reason to dismiss it, but a reason to read it in context. The practical advice is the same as for any source on sensitive topics: cross-check what matters against outlets of a different orientation before treating it as settled. Comparing several versions of the same event usually gets you closer to what actually happened than trusting any single one.

Canal RT en Español es el canal en castellano de RT, la cadena de noticias financiada por el Estado ruso. Ofrece su cobertura de la actualidad internacional dirigida al público hispanohablante, con reportajes, vídeos y acceso al resto de sus canales temáticos. Como en cualquier medio con financiación pública, su enfoque editorial está ligado a quien lo sostiene; su propio lema, 'lo que otros no cuentan', anuncia esa voluntad de ofrecer un ángulo distinto al de los medios occidentales. Saberlo forma parte de leerlo con criterio. No hace falta rechazarlo ni aceptarlo sin más: lo razonable es integrarlo en una dieta informativa variada. Para los temas geopolíticos delicados, la mejor costumbre es cotejar la misma noticia en fuentes de líneas diferentes; el contraste, y no una única voz, es lo que ayuda a formarse una idea más completa de lo ocurrido.
